Rumi Wisdom Cookie - Neeraj Sabharwal

Atheist Wisdom Cookie

The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one. The happiness of credulity is a cheap and dangerous quality. ~George Bernard Shaw

Faith means not wanting to know what is true. ~Friedrich Nietzsche

I believe in God, only I spell it Nature. ~Frank Lloyd Wright

We must question the story logic of having an all-knowing all-powerful God, who creates faulty Humans, and then blames them for his own mistakes. ~Gene Roddenberry

To surrender to ignorance and call it God has always been premature, and it remains premature today. - Isaac Asimov

A man is accepted into a church for what he believes and he is turned out for what he knows. ~Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain)

Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful. ~Seneca the Younger

Philosophy is questions that may never be answered. Religion is answers that may never be questioned. ~Anonymous

Not only is there no god, but try getting a plumber on weekends. ~Woody Allen

If I were not an atheist, I would believe in a God who would choose to save people on the basis of the totality of their lives and not the pattern of their words. I think he would prefer an honest and righteous atheist to a TV preacher whose every word is God, God, God, and whose every deed is foul, foul, foul. ~Isaac Asimov

Belief in the supernatural reflects a failure of the imagination. ~Edward Abbey

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion. ~Steven Weinberg

I still say a church steeple with a lightning rod on top shows a lack of confidence. ~Doug McLeod

RUMI WISDOM COOKIE - Neeraj Sabharwal

To Love is to reach God.

Once a beloved asked her lover: 'Friend,You have seen many places in the world! Now - which of all these cities was the best?'He said: 'The city where my sweetheart lives!'

From myself I am copper, through You, friend, I am gold. From myself I'm a stone, but through You I am a gem!

fall in love with the agony of love not the ecstasy then the beloved will fall in love with you.

Did my Beloved only touch me with his lips,I too, like a flute, would burst out into melody.

Before coming to this world we were in heaven. We were friends of the angels. There is our real homeland, and we will return to it.

I will soothe you and heal you.I will bring you roses. I too have been covered with thorns.
Your fragrant breath like the morning breeze has come to the stillness of the garden You have breathed new life into me.

The world is a prison and we are the prisoners: dig a hole in the prison and let yourself out!
The light which shines in the eye is really the light of the heart.

I am a lover well versed in lovers' madness,I am weary of learning and sense.

He is a letter to everyone. You open it. It says, 'Live!'

If in thirst you drink water from a cup, you see God in it. Those who are not in love with God will see only their own faces in it.

Everyone is so afraid of death, but the real sufis just laugh: nothing tyrannizes their hearts. What strikes the oyster shell does not damage the pearl.

Christian, Jew, Muslim, shaman, Zoroastrian, stone, ground, mountain, river, each has a secret way of being with the mystery, unique and not to be judged.

I bow to you for the dust of your feet Is the crown on my head And as I walk towards you Every step I take is a blessing.

Since in order to speak, one must first listen, learn to speak by listening.

O tongue, you are an endless treasure. O tongue, you are also an endless disease.

The intelligent desire self-control; children want candy.

Many of the faults you see in others, dear reader, are your own nature reflected in them. As the Prophet said, 'The faithful are mirrors to one another.'

Whoever gives reverence receives reverence.

If you are wholly perplexed and in straits, have patience, for patience is the key to joy.
Dissolve in the Being who is everything.

Gita Wisdom Cookie - Neeraj Sabharwal

The Bhagavad Gītā (Sanskrit: भगवद्गीता, IPA: [ˈbʱəɡəʋəd̪ ɡiːˈtɑː], Song of God), also more simply known as Gita, is a Hindu scripture, though its philosophies and insights are intended to reach beyond the scope of religion and to humanity as a whole. It is at times referred to as the "manual for mankind" and has been highly praised by not only prominent Indians such as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi but also Aldous Huxley, Albert Einstein, J. Robert Oppenheimer, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Carl Jung and Herman Hesse.[1][2] It is considered among the most important texts in the history of literature and philosophy.[3] The Bhagavad Gita comprises exactly 700 verses, and is a part of the Mahabharata. The teacher of the Bhagavad Gita is Lord Krishna, who is revered by Hindus as a manifestation of God (Parabrahman) itself,[3] and is referred to within as Bhagavan, the Divine One.[4]
